day one hundred forty eight

We're in Cedar this weekend for WORCS race #8. It's Pace's very first race!!! It is just practice day today. They are getting a feel for the track and getting the bikes tuned up. Pace is wiping away a tear of joy here because he is so happy that he cut his hair and his helmet now fits!

Someone is always happy to be racing! You'll notice it is the only time he actually smiles for the camera without a threat from me.

Team Mom

Here is Pace's day plater complete with mud splatters and all.

The day wouldn't be complete without Bailey taking my camera and her and Jacki hiking out to take hundreds of pictures of themselves.

Bailey learned in her photography class how to adjust the aperture and other such settings that I have no clue about. Check out the cool lighting though!

Featuring Jack-a-Lack

I LOVE this picture of the sky and clouds!!! LOVE.

I dig this Tumblr picture as well...

Here's Pace, Jordan and Jeff contemplating motorcycle life issues

AND Taylor who is so excited she can't even stay awake!

We're back to Grandma and Grandpa's house to evaluate the tear offs for the 875 pairs of goggles that they own between the two of them. Swapping out lens' and other goggle related science is happening in this picture. Trust me when I say that it IS a science.

day one hundred forty three

Today I got ready for church and then went downstairs. Lo and behold I find my super cute husband matching me perfectly!!! It's like I called him and coordinated our outfits. We were so cute that I made him go outside for a photo shoot with me.

We were rocking our navy blue and yellow and that is a fact.

Jade is growing tired of our photo shoot at this point but is hanging in there like a champ.

Jade delivers a kiss and a plea to stop. Ok, I've captured our matchy matchy Sunday good enough! Off to church we go!

day one hundred forty

Up and atom first thing this morning! We stopped by Caine's Arcade for a tour. Caine was a 9 year old boy who built an elaborate arcade made out of cardboard. His arcade is now famous and he is inspiring kids everywhere with his creativity and dreams. Really cool place.

Guess who was there? Caine himself came to talk to the students!

Next stop California Science Center. This place is like the Discovery Museum in Vegas on crack. It was unreal! They had every possible science related thing imaginable here. We loved this place! We got to see another movie in an omnimax theater, this one was 3-D and about the International Space Station.

Jacki got to stand next to a real live space suit. This was Ken Mattingly's. Jacki was busy spouting off endless facts about space for me. I was in heaven listening to her. She loves space more than anything!

The most important exhibit of course is the space toilet! I mean don't we all want (need) to know how to poo in space?

And the crowning moment of the day was to see the space shuttle!!!!! Oh my gosh it was HUGE! I saw this when I went with Taylor to Astrocamp and I love it every time. I'm glad Jacki plans on getting a job with NASA when she grows up because I will have endless opportunities to see cool things like this.

This is one of the main propulsion engines on the shuttle. I cannot even imagine how something like this was even built!

Here we are in the ice exhibit. This little group of girls were the peeps I was in charge of.

Here is the whole Bass group of GATE students. Mr. Smith has had more influence on Jacki and Taylor than any teacher at Bass. I will miss him the most when Jacki goes to Del Webb next year. He was a game changer for Jack.

Imagine this... Jacki napping again on my shoulder!! Wouldn't trade my napping shoulder job for the world. We are headed home to Vegas now, exhausted and happy as could be.

day one hundred thirty nine

Today is ziplining day!! Been looking forward to this the entire week! She is all buckled and ready to go.

I got to zipline too! This zipline was sooooo long and so much fun. I wasn't allowed to hang upside down though... BOO!

We had to travel up on this rope thing to the platform. It was by far the hardest part of the zipline. It was all wobbly and shaky.

There she goes... almost there!

Here is Jacki and Mr. Gillmore the assistant principal at Bass. I was worried at first about my fellow chaperones but they ended up to be so much fun!

Goodbye Astrocamp! On the bus now heading to the Griffith Observatory in L.A. Time for me to serve my official duties as napping shoulder again.

Here we are! This place was beyond interesting. Everything we've ever wanted to know about our solar system was in here. We saw a movie at an omnimax theater about the Aurora Borealis. It was so cool!

Jacki next to her dear friend the moon.

By the way.... this evening I received a phone call from my very own daughter Bailey Thomson that she made the LHS varsity dance team!!! WOOOO HOOOO!!!! So proud of her!

day one hundred thirty eight

This is the rocket building class. So cool!

Here is the finished product! After they were finished we went out to a rocket launching pad to shoot them into the sky. Jacki's went sooooo high! I took a picture but it was too dark so you'll just have to envision the coolness of it all.

Neil Armstrong's #1 fan!!!

Look I have a jacket on! A jacket in May! Toto we're not in Kansas anymore.

In this class they built a "space station" underwater to simulate zero gravity. They weren't even allowed to say one word outloud. They had to use sign language to communicate with the people in their group. It was just like if they were in space.

My bugger is happy as could be

And the completed space station!! They built the whole thing underwater and then raised it above water for us to take a picture. They did it perfectly!

Free swim time after lunch

This was the micrometeor class. They went outside and found actual meteorite particles that came from space!!

See that perfectly round object in the microscopic field? That is an actual piece of meteorite that Jacki found. The real mystery is how she managed to take a picture through the microscope lens with my cell phone! I absolutely love this picture!

day one hundred thirty four

Well, here it is... the naked wedding cake. Essentially it took me 10 hours un-frosting it to make it look perfectly undone.

And the cutting of said naked cake.

Trends these days are so very strange. I ended up liking it though. It went very well with the rustic decor she had. I am, of course, into rustic decor so I felt right at home.

There was dancing in the barn and it was so much fun! Kylie looked more beautiful than I have ever seen her. She literally glowed.

Tates and Jade

Jade and his dad, for the very first time in their collective lives, posing kind of nicely for the camera! Miracles do apparently happen.

Me and my boy having a dance....

Congratulations Kylie and Uncle Jim!
