Up and atom first thing this morning! We stopped by Caine's Arcade for a tour. Caine was a 9 year old boy who built an elaborate arcade made out of cardboard. His arcade is now famous and he is inspiring kids everywhere with his creativity and dreams. Really cool place.
Guess who was there? Caine himself came to talk to the students!
Next stop California Science Center. This place is like the Discovery Museum in Vegas on crack. It was unreal! They had every possible science related thing imaginable here. We loved this place! We got to see another movie in an omnimax theater, this one was 3-D and about the International Space Station.
Jacki got to stand next to a real live space suit. This was Ken Mattingly's. Jacki was busy spouting off endless facts about space for me. I was in heaven listening to her. She loves space more than anything!
The most important exhibit of course is the space toilet! I mean don't we all want (need) to know how to poo in space?
And the crowning moment of the day was to see the space shuttle!!!!! Oh my gosh it was HUGE! I saw this when I went with Taylor to Astrocamp and I love it every time. I'm glad Jacki plans on getting a job with NASA when she grows up because I will have endless opportunities to see cool things like this.
This is one of the main propulsion engines on the shuttle. I cannot even imagine how something like this was even built!
Here we are in the ice exhibit. This little group of girls were the peeps I was in charge of.
Here is the whole Bass group of GATE students. Mr. Smith has had more influence on Jacki and Taylor than any teacher at Bass. I will miss him the most when Jacki goes to Del Webb next year. He was a game changer for Jack.
Imagine this... Jacki napping again on my shoulder!! Wouldn't trade my napping shoulder job for the world. We are headed home to Vegas now, exhausted and happy as could be.
