day one hundred thirty three

Today is another cake making day! Kylie is getting married tomorrow and wants a naked cake. What is a naked cake you ask? Stay tuned for tomorrow's picture-a-day post and you shall find out!

Some people like to bake in a clean kitchen... me, not so much.

I was trying to decide if I made this cake too tall so I made Jade put his big ole melon next to it for a better perspective. I decided it was too tall.

So on to the counter the top of the cake goes. No worries, I have 4 urchins who like to come around and clean up after my "mistakes".

day seventy six

Bread popping out of the little holes and raising till the Bosch explodes, because I forgot about it, is the story of my life.

day sixty

Check out my cinnamon roll recipe. It is the most jacked up recipe I have ever seen. I practically have to wear gloves to handle it. It has butter, cinnamon, dough and grease stains all over it.

P.S. Happy Leap Year!

day twenty seven

Today is cake making day. I've got a wedding cake  and a baby shower cake both due on Saturday. One thing is for sure... I am not a clean baker. Anytime I bake it looks like a hurricane blew through my kitchen.

I never realized how pretty carrots were. Nature produces the best colors ever.

day ten

Here is a visual of what happens every time I stir something. Fail.

Have you ever shaken the bread so hard trying to get it out of the pan that the whole top falls off? I have.

Today I had the kids go out to the garage to fetch my bread. In the summer I let my bread raise on Jade's motorcycle in the garage where it's nice and warm. When they came in looking like a bread parade I thought it was cute so I took a quick picture!

Today I begged Jade to throw away some of his magazines that reside on the back of our toilet. He had to hurry and read them again... just in case he missed something the first  five hundred times he read them!

And in the trash can they went!!!! Happy days for me!

Here is the finished product! If you know Jade you know this is a big deal!

Time to make Jake's mile high coconut cream pie... I mean how could I not?
Especially after his magazine cleaning debut.

Awwww.... Pace came home from youth conference today... plum tuckered out! Socializing all weekend is hard work.

Jade demanded, I mean asked politely for strawberry shortcake after church. We all know he is a whip cream snob. He always adds more sugar (till it crunches) and whips it till it's practically butter. He is now sampling his finished product. Oh, and you'll all be proud to know that my shortcake was tall enough for his liking today. Who knew he was such a princess?? A cute princess but nonetheless a princess!

I thought he was just playing around but he legit didn't know he had whip cream all over trapped in his beard! And he calls ME PigPen.

I have to have surgery tomorrow and my cousin is the scheduler for Dr. Peterson's office. I promised her cookies (for squeezing me into the schedule). Of course it's 10:30 p.m. the night before I leave (at 3:00 a.m.) and my beautiful cookies are all baked and ready, only to discover that they have no salt or baking soda in them!!!! SOOOOO ANNOYING!! Apparently I was a little more nervous than I thought for the upcoming procedure.

Wedding Day!! Chance and Lauren were married on this rainy morning in the St. George Temple. Jade and I were married in the same temple and in the exact same room as Chance was this morning... oh the memories!

Here are some cousins at the temple!

Jeff and MaryAnn. MaryAnn's new haircut is SOOOO cute!

Here's the happy couple. Chance you're looking a bit strained....

Thank goodness I had the Thomson team helping me set up my wedding cake display!!

And it is finished. Phew!!! It turned out lovely despite my nervous breakdown.

Check out that view!!! It really didn't matter what my cakes looked like. Anything would have looked good in this setting with that view. I should have just set out a plate of Twinkies and Ding Dongs.

The gigantic backyard where the reception was held overlooked all of St. George. It was pretty much the perfect picture taking place. Hence the picture overload.

I spy with my little eye the St. George Temple in the background.

Oh PayPay... you're so very handsome!

There was a pond in the back yard (along with putting greens, basketball court, etc.) where the girls caught the cutest little tiny frogs!!! I can't stand how cute he is! He started getting lethargic though so Bailey had to run him (like an ambulance) back to his home in the pond where he quickly came back to life (double phew).

Here, above the ground beef in the freezer, are two of the cakes for Chance and Lauren's wedding on Friday. I have been baking/decorating since Monday. To say that these cakes were stressful would be the understatement of the year! For whatever reason this particular wedding cake order just about put me over the edge. I'm retiring for a while.

Sucks to be me today. Here is a portion of the baking for the scout auction tomorrow. For some reason I just cannot say no to Eddie Barillas! Maybe next year.

Later that evening we went to Endurocross with Kevin and Robin. Kevin got us tickets. Not only that but we had a suite all to ourselves. It sure is fun living high on the hog!

Oh, just chillin in our suite with popcorn and loafy chairs!

Upside down (I can totally do this).

By the end of today I felt like I had done my own version of endurocross. We got home at midnight and to say that I was exhausted was the understatement of the world. These endurocross riders should spend a day at my house. They would think their endurotrack was a piece of cake (no pun intended ).
