day one hundred sixty five

Another day of summer... another day of everyone over at the house solving the world's problems. Oh wait, only Kathryn and I can do that!

day one hundred fifty three

Today is the last day of school and the last day that any of my team will be attending elementary school. Ho. Lee. Cow. I cannot believe I'm done with Bass. I have been schlepping kids to this school for the past 11 years. Myself and a few other "hands on parents", i.e., the only other parents that ever did anything, decided that we were so important that we reserved ourselves spots on the front row. And you know what? No one told us we couldn't. It is because we really are (were) that important.

Here is some of my VIP friends. Tracy, Nameer and I were permanent fixtures at every single field trip, school party, field day and school event for the past 11 years.

Here is the 5th grade graduate herself arriving to the program!

She refused (and I mean REFUSED) to wear a dress or anything "fancy". She put on long pants (jeans) and informed me that, "this is the fanciest I will get". Everyone was actually shocked as this was the first time all year that she didn't wear shorts.

Clapping for her fellow peeps

Here is Jack receiving her 5th grade promotion, AB honor roll and of course the Great American Award!!!

Mrs. Zamora's graduating 5th grade class of 2016

Singing the John C. Bass school song one last time. My kids have sung this song now for years. It is seared into my brain. I had to sing along because John C Bass is a bully free school, protecting others IS THE RULE!

Grandma came for her special day! Of course she also had a reserved seat. It's the perks of being a grandma to a granddaughter whose mother is a VIP. Did you follow that?

I surely do love this picture.... sigh. Just look at those beautiful happy faces that I love.

Me, Jack and Grandma!

Due to our yearly tradition we had to have a LOT of food at the house so everyone could meet over here after school was over. Taylor went to her friends house so we were missing her :(

Jacki and Coco decided to party with some water in our now functioning backyard.

And of course she enjoyed our swimming pool which also doubles as Jessi's water trough.

Off to Coco's pool to finish off the day. After eating the high school kids made their way over to Max's house to swim. It is tooooooo hot here to do much of anything else.
My post of the last day of school is done now and I'm going to go have a good nap and a good cry.

one hundred forty two

Time for Saturday chores! Johnny's family is gone to a softball tournament so we have custody of him for the weekend. I made Pace, Johnny and Bailey go out and pull weeds. Unfortunately these are things we must do now that we have a real backyard.

Time for Kevin's birthday party (that he's been reminding us about for the last 6 months)!! The girls found some random cute little girl to play with all night. How cute is this pic of her and Jack... and of Kevin and Vanden too.

day one hundred twenty eight

Today was mayhem and I mean MAYHEM. We have to accomplish today... prom hike for Pace, concert for Taylor, camp certification for Bailey, volleyball game for Taylor, soccer game for Jacki, and prom tonight. Did I mention Jade is out of town at a WORCS race? Well let me mention it then. Great balls of fire. Ok, here is my prime seat at Artemus Ham Hall listening to Taylor's choir perform. They sound good in the gym at Del Webb but to listen to them with the acoustics of this amazing venue was off the charts. I cannot believe they are a middle school choir!

Taylor and Livy after the concert.

Here is me and my little twin. I would pay a lot of money to trade eyes with her. I love her eyes.

Serene ward concert choir representation!

As soon as we were done at UNLV we hustled on over to Taylor's volleyball game. She is getting really good and is getting her serves over the net. Of course she left her shoes home so she currently has on the coaches shoes while the coach sits on the bench in her socks!

In between the volleyball game and this next picture Jacki had a soccer game that I missed, so sorry Jack no pictures of your soccer skills today. Here Bailey, Taylor, Jacki and Johnny are all paying homage to Pace who is looking particularly handsome in his prom attire. He is actually going to the prom and not playing cards tonight.

On his way to Bryenna's house to pick her up!

Pace brought Bryenna back home to wait for the other kids to show up. We practiced a few 80's poses while we waited. Pace looks so handsome and Bryenna looked so gorgeous I couldn't take it!

Here they all decided to line up for an 80's prom pose. It looks more like choo choo train to me.

We headed up to the Healing Gardens at St. Rose for prom pictures. Here are the boys being ding bats, nothing out of the ordinary.

Cutest couple at the prom tonight. I guarantee it!

Here are all the couples lined up for the bridge shot. Oh and the gay couple in the middle... that's just Denzyl and Gage, no need to worry.

More shots by the professional photographer (me).

Looking all abstractly at some made up object in the sky

Me and my PayPay. Jade made me almost cry here at the photo shoot taunting me that I only had 2 more years left till he leaves on his mission.

It got a little rainy so my ever gentleman Pace walked her out with an umbrella.

When we rolled back in the subdivision after taking pictures we looked down the street and wondered what idiot parents would let their children climb all over a construction garbage dumpster. It turns out it was Bailey, Jacki and Johnny. Apparently Jade was the idiot parent!

Now they are in the dog house eating pizza.

So Jade decided to lure Jessi over with a slice of pizza so she would go in the dog house with both Bailey and Johnny. Let me be the first to tell you there isn't enough room in there for them all. Hence why Jade did that I suppose.

I got a fire pit for the night to light up in my new swag backyard. Here is Jade in his natural habitat being a pyro. Ask him one day about starting Yosemite National Park on fire when he was younger.

We had to make a prom feast of course for them to eat

They stayed awake playing cards, sitting by the fire and laughing till about 1:30 in the morning. I, as the dutiful chaperone, was sound asleep. Chaperoning past 10:00 p.m.... ain't nobody got time for that.

And last but certainly not least here is our very own Eli Tomac! Here he is airborne and looking so fabulous! WORCS series round 7.

day one hundred nineteen

Today was "take your kid to work day". Translation: let your kid sleep in and then watch tv all day. I'm a loser mom like that. Anyways, we had to go to Bass for Jacki to pass of her Presidents and we ran into Logan Zamora! Taylor and Logan went to elementary school together and were best friends from kindergarten through 5th grade! They were so happy to see each other! They just picked up right where they left off, laughing and causing a ruckus in the classroom. It was so fun to see him again!

Guess what happened today??? Pace asked Bryenna Taylor to prom! Look how cute!

We decided to forgo the tuxedo and just buy him a suit, so we loaded up the posse and headed to the mall.

Here is Denzyl apparently too excited to wait for Pace to actually get out of the dressing room to see how he looks in his suit. They. Are. SO. Weird.

We decided since we were shopping for prom attire that we should get a prom pose picture. Here they all are in their very best prom pose. So sweet.

And here is Mr. G.Q. himself! We found the perfect suit and he looks SO good in it! I can't handle how handsome and how old he looks.

Long day shopping, "going with our parents to work", asking girls to prom and seeing old friends. Time for some grub.

day one hundred five

Typical picture... the girls are totally posed and prepared while the boys haven't even grasped the fact that their picture is being taken.

day ninety eight

Since Karrie was in town we all met for breakfast at Kneaders. I'm sure glad someone put up a sign for me. Finally someone recognizes my status in this town!
