day twenty two

Guess what this is? PACE DRIVING HIMSELF AND BAILEY TO SCHOOL!!! I realize this only saves me approximately 7 minutes of driving them in the morning but for some reason it is the most wonderful thing in the world! I wanted to go back in and celebrate with a big fat nap on the couch but I was far to excited and couldn't relax properly. Folks, this here is the beginning of a whole new life for me. As traumatized as I am that he is 16 years old, the fact that he can run errands and pick up kids for me takes the sting out of it for sure.

Also, Jacki is performing at the LHS basketball game tonight! She learned a routine at the "Little Patriots" clinic last Saturday. She practiced the dance all week and might I say she has it down perfect!! We are leaving tonight for the YW ski trip and I'm going to miss her performance (I just shed a tear). I have no doubts she'll nail it though!

The angles, the smile, the bow....perfection!

Meanwhile... back in St. George we are having dinner and getting ready for a devotional with the YM/YW. Crazy busy day.

Speaking of the devotional... Pace had an amazing spiritual experience during the devotional, and by spiritual experience I mean R.E.M.

day twenty one

PACE GOT HIS DRIVERS LICENSE TODAY!!!! He was so excited, while visions of sugar plums danced in my head (him running to walmart to get my groceries)! He did so good on the driving test the instructor (tester) asked me if I had enrolled him in a professional driving course. Of course he was in a professional course... he was taught by his mother!! I asked him to pose with his new license and this is what I got.

day eighteen

We got Pace's car all fixed up. WooHoo!! Pace's driving test is at the DMV on Thursday so we set out to practice. We dropped the girls off at Ross and then we proceeded to park and parallel park ALL over that parking lot. If you look closely it appears that Pace has mounted 2 small lions on the roof of his hooptie.

Pace was driving to pick Jacki up from school today. I looked back and just about died laughing. Denzyl was clearly fearing for his life for he has not one, not two, but three seat belts on! Hopefully this will protect him from Pace's driving "skills".

I can't even describe in proper words how proud we all are of Pace. He accomplished a major milestone today. HE MADE HIS OWN SANDWICH!!!!!! Big, big, big, huge day for the Thomson team.

Also, today Pace drove on I-15 for the first time. Yes, that is a big huge semi out the window that we may or may not have gotten within inches of. I had some white knuckles by the time we got home but all in all he did pretty good. Teaching someone to drive is a little tricky here in Vegas. Main Street in Cedar vs. the Spaghetti Bowl.... totally different experience.

The best part about being in Utah is that I dare let the kids drive. That's what Bulldog Road is good for... driver's education.

While waiting in line at the DMV I took Pace to get his hair cut. Look at the crazy photo bomber in this picture... I can't stop laughing! Pace hated his haircut. I think he looks so very handsome though and my opinion is the only one that matters. Just sayin.

Look what happened after the haircut... Pace aced his drivers permit test! Clear the sidewalks... PayPay is now officially behind the wheel.
