day one hundred fifteen

I'm doing the morning chores and then heading home today. It has been quite the adventure this week! Michael and I attempted an emergency c-section only to run for cover from an exploding bloated ewe. I got tackled by a crazy psychotic mother today. Lunch with my brothers. Chores in the middle of the night with barn swallows swooping in front of my face. Chilling at my house all alone (weird). Lost my phone only to discover it in a pen with a mom and her triplets. Nursed a few lambs back to life (and one to death). Getting to call my dad on my way home from the farm at 1:00 am. Introduced fabric scissors to the farm life. Good times!

Goodbye little friends. I'll see you next year when I won't like you anymore because you'll be all grown up and annoying.

I'm sure glad Jade is dutifully taking the team to church with documentation and everything! They look half asleep and I have no clue where Pace is. I don't even want to know actually.

day one hundred fourteen

Today Pace got to go with Jace Leavitt to his birthday party.... WITH THE SWAT TEAM!!! To say that I am jealous is a total understatement! I begged Jace to invite me too but as you can see I'm not in any of the pictures. They got to throw flash bangs, smoke grenedes, shoot an MP5 full auto, and shoot a GA precision .308 sniper rifle!! Not fair.

Pace shooting an M16

Hopefully he nailed a pigeon or two with this MP5

Meanwhile back at the farm things are crazy busy!!!

day one hundred thirteen

Today we had to move the sheep to the pasture because we're getting too many in the corrals. Hicks, Michael and Dan would fish out lambs from the shoot and I would tic and brand. We had a speedy system going on.

They are so cute all lined up ready to go. They are nice and somewhat polite in the loading shoot... their moms, not so much.

day one hundred twelve

So many babies last night! Michael and I have been working together at the farm. I'm having a lovely time. I can't complain about getting to hang out with my brothers all week!

Jade called today and said it was so hot in Vegas that he actually had to turn the a/c on. Meanwhile I was busy making myself a fire to get warm by. I just pulled my dad's chair up to it and reclined away. It was loafy city in between chores at the farm.

day one hundred eleven

I drove to Cedar for the week to help my brothers with lambing season. My brothers are in charge of the farm while my mom and dad are on their mission. I thought I better do my tiny share to help.

These babies sure are cute even though I'd like to strangle their mothers most of the time.

day ninety two

Today mom and I ran some errands up town. The cousins were busy playing so we got busy shopping. Grandma needed a touch-up to her hair so we stopped on by the salon. I couldn't help but post this fabulous picture!

April 1st marks the official start of Lambing Season. Here are the kids looking out at the ewes from inside the lambing shed.

Poor things look so pathetic after they've been sheared!

My dad got a baby lamb and is about to dock, brand, and castrate it...

Look at the horror on Bailey's face (I think we've been in the city too long).

All of my team (and Cole) looking at the sheep out the window again.

Here is the sheepwagon that my dad had fixed up. Sitting in this was about the most nostalgic thing in the world. Laurie and I used to sleep in this up on the mountain. We spent hours and hours playing in it while Grandpa was doing chores and checking on the sheep. Grandpa and Grandma Pace (Jack and Amanda) lived in here, up on Kanarra mountain, during their first year of marriage. My Grandpa used to pull it up the mountain behind a team of horses. Now we just hitch it to the truck and pull it around. I would give just about anything if this sheepwagon could talk.

 Oh how I love him....

Here is the lambing shed at night. Soon it will be filled with baby lambs. It's a crazy time of year for my dad!

Dusk at the farm is pretty amazing.
